In collaboration with:
The Summer Institute for Spanish Teachers program is intended for Spanish teachers who are currently teaching or planning to teach Spanish.
Participants will be living with Spanish families (other type of accommodation is possible) and attending classes, as well as visiting sites of cultural and historical significance, all the while enjoying interactions with native speakers.
Participants may earn three graduate credits. Credits may be obtained from Marywood University
Teachers should check with their Board of Education to make certain that credits will be accepted.
The goal of the Summer Institute for Spanish Teachers is to offer the opportunity to improve one's ability in all of the language teaching skill areas.
Three courses will be offered
Three credits will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.
Classes will be held from 9:00 to 1:30 Monday to Friday.
Requirements for all courses include: attendance and participation in the classes, readings and essays and a final project.
Teachers should check with their Board of Education to make certain that credits will be accepted.
We have chosen all our families after a rigorous selection process to make sure that you will feel at home.
The distance from the host family to the Institute is under 30 minutes, walking or by bus.
The home stay includes 3 meals a day, laundry and room cleaning once a week.
During the home stay a student will have his/her own room (single or shared depending on your selected option) and will be able to use the rest of the common areas such as living/dining room, kitchen, bathroom.
We recommend a home stay for all our students. In this way the student will learn more about Spanish culture and customs and will have more opportunities to practice Spanish.
If you prefer not to stay with a host family. We can help you find another type of accommodation. Please contact us.

He aprendido un “mogollón”.
